Dear Sir / Madam,Recently, I have experienced some problems installing the Adobe Flash Player Installer as well asActiveX Control.When I log on to a website that needs Flash Player, the information bar will prompt me and of course, I click to install the Flash Player Installer and the ActiveX Control. However, after I click OK to let the installer run, the pop up for the installer appearsagain, and when I try to install again, nothing happens and the installer is not downloaded.I have tried going to the Adobe website for troubleshooting (see: ) but have failed. Also when I try to download the Flash Player from the website, (see:) and it says, 'This content requires Flash.To view this content, JavaScript must be enabled, and you need the latest version of the Adobe FlashPlayer.' So when I click 'Download the free flash player now!' Nothing happens - I am directed back to the same page again.Could you kindly help me look into this problem ASAP? On Windows 10 Microsoft ONLY will update it via Windows update as and when they consider it necessary. To date they have not issued an update for version 182 which I note you have installed. Do you allow Flash to run in IE and Edge? IIf so you might want to disable Flash from running until required.
If you are not sure what to do I can write a simple script for you to follow. EDIT In case you want to adjust your Flash settings the details are here: EDGE Open Edge At the top right corner you will see.

You can check it is turned off by using this tool CONTROL PANEL Open CONTROL PANEL select Flash Player (32 Bit)adjust any settings to your preferences. If in the future a website requires you to use Flash you will get a message that Flash is NOT INSTALLED. Just ignore that and reverse the action taken in either EDGE or IE to reactivate Flash. Just a reminder that Adobe Flash is embedded into Windows 10 and you should ONLY allow Microsoft to update or modify it. NPAPI updates ok by downloading Flash from the Adobe website, but ActiveX will not update or allow you to delete it, though PSI rates it as a severe threat. Hopefully Microsoft will get around to updating ActiveX before too long. However, my computer's 'trusted installer' would not allow it. I was able to update the flash player plug-in for Firefox with no problem.
Also Google seems to be on the ball with an update for it's embedded flash player. I guess Microsoft is waiting until its second Tuesday of the month updates to take care of updating flash in the Edge browser.

This may explain why it is not yet auto-updated in W8 and W10 (as applicable but the PSI has reacted. As noted by Maurice and Brian Krebs, disabling Flash in your browser (until demanded by a website) is the safest option if you keep Flash on your machine. Hope that is helpful.
