Hi Peter,Thanks for the post. Unfortunately, I am not the best guy to answer this Linux question. Have you checked the Pixy forums?

  1. Libusb Install

I am sure they have some Linux questions and answers.Linux Instructions:Pixy Forum:We (IR-LOCK) actually did not make any changes to Pixymon. We only changed the firmware (that goes on Pixy). And this firmware is compatible with the '2nd version of Pixymon', which was released around.

In other words, the Pixymon that is posted on the IR-LOCK website is the same as the Pixymon posted on Pixy website.Keep me updated. I hope it gets worked out.-Thomas.

Actually, we have a special firmware on the IR-LOCK website (see link below). I am surprised that the 2.0.5 firmware can detect the 'white blob', since it is intended to detect colors. If you have poor performance/range, then you should probably switch to the firmware and Pixymon files suggested on the IR-LOCK website. Also, the IR-LOCK firmware will allow you to change the exposure setting, which is helpful for reducing interference. (after you click Action-Restore default parameter values in PixyMon)I currently use the following firmware and Pixymon files for my UAV work.' The Linux Installation instructions provided on the Pixy website suggest that their Pixymon installation was compatible with their firmware version '1.0.2'.

That is very good news because our IR-LOCK firmware was developed at the same time, and is compatible with the corresponding Pixymon version ('1.0.2beta'). So ultimately, you will need the '1.0.2beta' version of Pixymon. All of the relevant files are archived on the Pixy website (see attached image), and it seems that it was suggested to be Linux-compatible according to their instructions at:I don't expect the IR-LOCK firmware to be compatible with the newest version of Pixymon.

Pixymon '2.0.4' was recently released (2 weeks ago), and the new Pixymon features are not especially helpful for IR tracking.-Thomas. quoteI don't expect the IR-LOCK firmware to be compatible with the newest version of Pixymon.

Pixymon '2.0.4' was recently released (2 weeks ago), and the new Pixymon features are not especially helpful for IR tracking.-Thomas/quoteThomas,I ran into the same issue on Windows when I first installed the Pixymon SW.Why dont you support the latest Pixymon releases? It seems there was some sort of code split done in the past which decouples us from the latest Pixy developments. Any reason why the IR Lock enhancements cant be incorporated into the master code stream? Mtbsteve,It may be possible, but it could also cause more harm than good if I don't manage it properly. It will take some time before I can check into the latest developments in more detail, but one of the things I am concerned about (on the firmware side) is the 'improved color detection algorithm' which is 'more computationally expensive'. This could be undesirable for our fast and simple 'white blob' detection (and future IR-LOCK developments). However, I would like to have Linux compatibility, and if the instructions provided in my comment above are workable, I will be very happy. Pixy's default method of Linux installation involves downloading the master branch directly from their Github. Obviously, this causes issues for us, so I am hopeful that the installation from the '1.0.2beta' source files will work. Thanks for your feedback,Thomas.
