Packard Bell System Serial Number

I have a PB EasyNote C3 and recently I low level formatted the hdd (erase everything including write zeros to boot sector of hdd). After doing this I used the laptop's recovery cds to install OS and everything back into it but I cant seem to access the program itself. It is asking for the 'Packard Bell Easynote System Serial Number' and the only serial number I could find on the laptop is pasted on a sticker under the laptop which is a bunch of about 10-12 numbers. But the 'Packard Bell Easynote System Serial Number' needed by the Recovery CDs is only a 5 digit number. The Recovery CDs are self burnt btw (thats how I got it when I bought it from the retail shop in SLS a few yrs back).

But there's a valid authentic Windows XP Home Edition COA sticker pasted under the laptop too and I never had any problems with authentication at all until I did the low level format yesterday. Prior to this, I have done normal format and recovery to my laptop too without the need to enter the 'Packard Bell Easynote System Serial Number' at all. It all went smoothly like normal recovery/format process. How do I go about getting the required information that my system needs? It's no longer under official warranty as it's been quite a few yrs back. Pls refer to picture below for reference on what I am talking abt.IMG/IMG.

Haha nice to meet a fellow HWZoner:D Anyway I've tried both the links u provided in the first response but still couldnt find a solution. Will try the serial in the BIOS and see if it works.I've done a bit of research on my own and I realised that when I did the low level format on the hdd, I accidentally deleted some crucial information in some hidden sectors of the hdd which holds the serial number key to the Recovery CDs. Turtle beach santa cruz vista drivers download. And I heard the only way to enable the use of the Recovery CDs again is to call PB up and order a new copy with a new serial number which will cost about 45 UK pounds. Other than that the only other known method I came across so far is called 'tattooing' or something like that. Havent really gone into the details yet but will keep u updated.

OK, this is like some of the Acers. You need to have a hidden partiton on your drive that contains the motherboard ID# and the cd won't pick it up even if you type in the right number because the launch program effectively compares what you type in with the hidden partiton - no hidden partition no comparison.Do you have the tattoo software on your restore disks? It'll be Tatto.exe and (hopefully) a file in the same folder that you run with a command line instruction which gets the motherboard ID# for Tattoo to put on the drive.
